DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound horror and grief over the gruesome murder of fourteen-year-old schoolgirl Jayasree in Villupuram district, who was set ablaze after petrol was poured over her by local AIADMK functionaries Kaliyaperumal and Murugan. Stalin extended heartfelt condolences to the devastated family members, condemning the horrific atrocity as an appalling testament to the utter degeneration of law, order, and public safety under the ruling establishment.
Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu police act with complete impartiality and professionalism, resisting political pressure from ruling party leaders to dilute criminal charges against the perpetrators. He insisted that the prosecution ensure the swiftest possible trial in a fast-track court and secure the maximum statutory punishment under law to serve as an unyielding deterrent against heinous crimes targeting women and young girls.
Stalin declared that the DMK will provide comprehensive legal support and solidarity to Jayasree's family until full justice is secured. He called upon the state government to disburse substantial financial compensation to the bereaved household immediately, warning that democratic society will never tolerate ruling party elements operating with murderous impunity across Tamil Nadu.
