DMK president M.K. Stalin commended the tireless efforts of party workers and grassroots volunteers across Tamil Nadu who spearheaded an unprecedented humanitarian mission to feed hungry citizens during the coronavirus lockdown. Sharing documented visual records of extensive food distribution programs under the banner of the DMK's statewide hunger relief drive, Stalin underscored the party's historic ethos of compassionate service and active social responsibility.
Stalin pointed out that when sudden movement curbs and market closures pushed millions of daily wage earners, pavement dwellers, migrant laborers, and disadvantaged families into severe food deprivation, DMK units established community kitchens across towns and rural hamlets. Cadres worked courageously around the clock to cook, package, and safely deliver hot meals and essential food packets directly to those who had no other means of sustenance.
Stalin declared that alleviating hunger during times of acute distress is the highest form of democratic duty. He praised the unwavering dedication of cadres who prioritized the survival of fellow citizens above their own personal convenience, affirming that the DMK remains forever rooted in selfless service to the people of Tamil Nadu.
