DMK president M.K. Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for establishing an overly centralized administrative structure for pandemic management, excluding even senior cabinet ministers from key decision-making committees while using the humanitarian crisis for personal political projection. Stalin warned that sidelining departmental leadership and centralizing emergency governance into an individual publicity exercise represents an extremely hazardous approach to disaster mitigation during a dangerous epidemic.
Stalin underscored that managing a complex, multi-sectoral public health emergency demands broad-based collegiate governance rather than autocratic centralization. Effective pandemic response relies upon seamless coordination between cabinet ministers, experienced public health specialists, senior administrative officers, and grassroots elected representatives who possess direct understanding of community needs across diverse districts and towns. Sidelining experienced ministers deprives policy formulation of crucial operational insights and weakens administrative execution.
Stalin urged the Chief Minister to abandon personal insecurity and political self-promotion in favor of inclusive, cooperative administrative action. He emphasized that genuine collective effort, institutional transparency, and respectful consultation with all democratic stakeholders constitute the only dependable path to formulating effective disease containment protocols, stabilizing public confidence, and protecting vulnerable citizens from epidemiological disaster throughout Tamil Nadu.
