பெருகும் மருத்துவக் கழிவுகளைக் கையாளவும், அழிக்கவும் இதுவரை எந்த ஆக்கப்பூர்வ நடவடிக்கையுமில்லை!

DMK president M.K. Stalin drew urgent attention to the acute occupational distress facing frontline nursing staff in government hospitals, who were pushed to severe physical exhaustion and mental trauma due to unrelenting workloads during the coronavirus pandemic. Stalin urged Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to listen to the legitimate concerns of nurses, reduce excessive shift durations, and recruit temporary clinical staff to prevent catastrophic healthcare worker burnout.
Stalin also raised a serious alarm regarding the reckless accumulation and haphazard disposal of infectious biomedical waste across municipal hospitals and quarantine centers. He noted that mountains of discarded protective suits, gloves, masks, and clinical consumables were left untreated in public spaces, creating severe environmental hazards and multiplying infection risks for municipal sanitation workers and nearby residents.
Stalin pointed out that the government had failed to take constructive measures to incinerate or neutralize biological waste safely, warning that administrative apathy risked triggering secondary epidemic outbreaks. He urged the state health department to enforce rigorous sanitation standards, provide adequate mental health support to nursing professionals, and ensure modern biomedical disposal systems operate continuously across all districts.
