DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the brazen verbal abuse and attempted physical assault perpetrated by AIADMK legislator K.P. Baskar against Namakkal Member of Parliament A.K.P. Chinraj during an official administrative review meeting. Stalin remarked that when a duly elected Member of Parliament is subjected to violent intimidation and hooliganism in broad daylight, it lays bare the total collapse of constitutional law and order under the Palaniswami regime.
Stalin criticized the Chief Minister for maintaining total silence and lacking the political courage to summon and discipline his party's misbehaving legislator. Because the head of the state administration chose to protect political perpetrators rather than enforce the law, Stalin urged the Governor of Tamil Nadu to intervene directly and ensure strict criminal action against the offending MLA.
Stalin pointed out that if an elected parliamentarian cannot be assured physical safety in public offices, ordinary citizens have no hope of justice under this administration. He demanded an impartial police investigation into the violent incident, warning that the DMK will not tolerate authoritarian violence or the suppression of democratic representatives working for their constituencies.
