DMK president M.K. Stalin inaugurated large-scale humanitarian relief distribution drives organized by MLA Ma. Subramanian to commemorate the ninety-seventh birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Stalin personally handed over comprehensive grocery kits, rice supplies, and financial aid packages to vulnerable households, ensuring assistance reached 133,000 struggling families affected by the prolonged lockdown across Chennai.
Stalin affirmed that celebrating Kalaignar's enduring legacy means standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the marginalized, the destitute, and daily wage earners during their hour of deepest trial. While administrative paralysis left impoverished communities without livelihood protections, DMK cadres mobilized grassroots resources through the Ondrinaivom Vaa initiative to ensure that no household suffered starvation during the economic shutdown.
Stalin declared that DMK's humanitarian relief operations will persist unabated until the coronavirus crisis subsides and economic normalcy returns completely. He commended party workers for demonstrating extraordinary empathy, discipline, and commitment to public welfare under challenging conditions. Stalin reiterated that service to humanity and defense of working-class survival remain the foundational tenets of the Dravidian movement, guiding every community assistance program undertaken across Tamil Nadu to uplift disadvantaged people.
