DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed deep anguish that government doctors and frontline nurses fighting selflessly on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic were compelled to declare a token agitation to draw administrative attention to their urgent grievances. Stalin stated that pushing selfless medical personnel into protest mode amid an escalating health crisis reflects profound administrative indifference and complete governance failure on the part of the AIADMK regime.
Stalin highlighted that medical professionals and nursing personnel have risked their lives and the well-being of their families daily, working exhausting shifts in overburdened government hospitals without adequate safety provisions, proper rest quarters, or fair compensation. Instead of honoring their extraordinary dedication with robust institutional support, prompt risk allowances, and protective equipment, the state government ignored their repeated representations and delayed crucial administrative redress.
Stalin urged the Chief Minister to immediately invite representatives of the doctors' and nurses' federations for constructive negotiations and fulfill their rightful demands without delay. He reiterated that protecting healthcare workers and ensuring dignified service conditions are vital prerequisites for maintaining a resilient public health system capable of defeating the contagion.
