DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed utter shock and dismay over media reports revealing that the AIADMK government's health department had suppressed approximately fifty percent of coronavirus fatalities in official statistics. Stalin asserted that concealing hundreds of pandemic deaths from public records is an unconscionable betrayal of public trust that severely undermines scientific containment efforts and endangers millions of citizens across Chennai.

Stalin pointed out that when mortality data is deliberately manipulated, independent epidemiologists and public health specialists are prevented from analyzing transmission vectors and evaluating whether coronavirus has entered the dangerous phase of widespread community transmission. Instead of confronting reality with scientific honesty, ruling authorities chose to conceal mortalities to manufacture an artificial perception of administrative success. Deceiving the public during a lethal pandemic prevents families from understanding the true gravity of contagion, leading to lowered precautions and preventable fatalities.

Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu government immediately halt all statistical concealment, constitute an expert panel to investigate community spread, and implement aggressive epidemiological countermeasures.
