DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the AIADMK administration for neglecting life-saving directives issued by the Supreme Court of India regarding the management of coronavirus patients and hospital infrastructure. Stalin noted that instead of diligently implementing the apex court's binding instructions to upgrade government hospital wards and guarantee dignified treatment for patients, the state government exhibited shocking apathy and bureaucratic indifference.
Stalin stressed that the Supreme Court's timely interventions provided a vital opportunity for state authorities to rectify severe deficiencies in medical facilities, oxygen supplies, and patient monitoring systems across Tamil Nadu. However, administrative lethargy and lack of political direction crippled the healthcare apparatus, leaving infected citizens to endure deteriorating conditions in overcrowded wards. When constitutional courts are compelled to issue explicit orders to safeguard basic healthcare rights, an elected government's failure to act responsibly becomes an unforgivable dereliction of duty.
Stalin urged Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to approach the court's directions constructively, mobilize administrative machinery, and immediately implement all mandated safety protocols. He emphasized that saving human lives must take precedence over political spin and ongoing administrative denial across state facilities.
