DMK president M.K. Stalin held extensive consultations with local body representatives from Sivaganga, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari districts to evaluate urgent community requirements and public welfare projects stalled under the AIADMK administration. Grassroots leaders detailed pressing local needs, including desilting irrigation tanks, completing rural road networks, providing uninterrupted drinking water supplies, and upgrading coastal infrastructure for fishing communities.
Stalin listened to the specific representations submitted by panchayat and municipal leaders, noting that the ruling government had neglected regional development across southern districts while diverting public funds into non-essential contracts. He assured the elected representatives that the DMK considers grassroots priorities as foundational blueprints for future state planning. Stalin formally promised that as soon as the DMK assumes office, every viable people-oriented project presented by these local bodies will be sanctioned and executed on a priority basis.
Stalin encouraged the local representatives to continue serving their communities diligently despite administrative hurdles and severe financial constraints. He affirmed that responsive local governance represents the core democratic strength of Tamil Nadu, pledging sustained institutional support for grassroots leaders fighting tirelessly for their local residents.
