DMK president M.K. Stalin demanded the immediate resignation or dismissal of Revenue and Information Technology Minister R.B. Udhayakumar following the Union government's official cancellation of the corrupt two thousand crore rupee BharatNet tender in Tamil Nadu. Stalin pointed out that Minister Udhayakumar had blatantly lied to the public by claiming that the procurement process contained no irregularities or corrupt practices whatsoever.
Stalin emphasized that the Union government's decisive intervention completely vindicated the DMK's persistent allegations regarding massive tender manipulation designed to favor select private entities. The cancellation demonstrated that corruption within the state administration has reached such flagrant proportions that it has become an embarrassment in the national capital. When the central authorities are compelled to scrap a major digital infrastructure tender due to unfair conditions, the responsible minister cannot continue in office.
Stalin called upon Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to provide a transparent public explanation regarding this massive corruption scandal. He insisted that the state administration institute a comprehensive independent probe into all procurement decisions within the department to hold accountable everyone involved in plundering public financial resources.
