DMK president M.K. Stalin criticized the AIADMK administration for transferring the Sathankulam custodial deaths of Jayaraj and Bennix to the Central Bureau of Investigation solely because of relentless pressure from the public, political parties, and media organizations. Stalin pointed out that the government took this step reluctantly, seeking to escape immediate accountability rather than demonstrating proactive commitment to justice.
Stalin challenged Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, asking why the police personnel directly responsible for torturing and killing two innocent citizens remain free without arrest. He asserted that if the ruling regime possessed genuine political backbone and moral integrity, the culpable officers would have been remanded to judicial custody immediately under murder charges instead of enjoying administrative protection. Evading domestic police accountability by shifting files to a central agency while leaving perpetrators unpunished constitutes a shameful mockery of justice.
Stalin affirmed that neither bureaucratic transfers nor official silence will dilute public outrage over the Sathankulam brutality. He demanded the immediate arrest of all implicated personnel to ensure that crucial evidence is preserved and justice is delivered without further institutional obstruction or political delay.
