DMK president M.K. Stalin sharply questioned Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami over his persistent efforts to shield police personnel responsible for the custodial deaths of Jayaraj and Bennix in Sathankulam. Stalin asked how much longer the Chief Minister planned to provide administrative sanctuary to rogue officers who brutally extinguished two innocent lives inside a police station. He emphasized that the primary constitutional obligation of a Chief Minister is to protect citizens from executive tyranny and abuse of authority.
Stalin stated that Palaniswami complete inaction and refusal to hold killer policemen accountable was both shocking and indicative of profound administrative weakness. Rather than demonstrating firm leadership to reassure an outraged citizenry, the Chief Minister chose evasion and silence, effectively legitimizing police lawlessness. Stalin pointed out that an administration incapable of upholding basic human rights and disciplining violent officers loses the ethical right to govern a democratic society.
Stalin demanded that the state government immediately stop shielding the accused and take decisive legal steps to secure maximum punishment for all perpetrators. He affirmed that the DMK will stand steadfastly with the victims families until complete justice is delivered.
