DMK president M.K. Stalin welcomed the Tamil Nadu government decision to cancel flawed curriculum modifications for school students, a regressive policy that he had earlier scrutinized and demanded to be rescinded immediately. Stalin pointed out that the educational authorities had hastily announced arbitrary syllabus reductions that threatened academic standards and created widespread confusion among teachers, parents, and students preparing for board examinations.
While appreciating the ultimate withdrawal of the controversial order, Stalin sharply criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for establishing an embarrassing pattern of impulsive policy announcements followed by hasty retractions under public pressure. He remarked that Palaniswami administrative trademark had become announcing ill-conceived orders and then executing hasty rollbacks, earning him the moniker of a leader who constantly backtracks. Stalin stressed that educational planning directly shapes the intellectual future of millions of children and cannot be treated with such administrative flippancy and incompetence.
Stalin demanded that the School Education Department formulate pedagogical policies in close consultation with experienced teachers, child psychologists, and academic experts. He affirmed that the DMK will remain vigilant against arbitrary educational decisions that compromise the quality of school learning across Tamil Nadu.
