Amidst the unprecedented #COVID19 crisis, marginalized sections of society are at a greater disadvantage than others.
With inequalities increasing, @PMOIndia must ensure decisions that go against the best interests of India's SC/ST/OBC communities are reversed immediately. https://t.co/UuZ32RCl6O

DMK president M.K. Stalin called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately intervene and reverse executive policy decisions that undermine the socio-economic welfare and statutory rights of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes communities. Stalin highlighted that the unprecedented coronavirus public health crisis has inflicted disproportionately severe economic and social harm upon historically marginalized communities, who lack adequate financial buffers, landholdings, or private healthcare access to absorb catastrophic economic shocks.
Stalin pointed out that socioeconomic inequalities have deepened dramatically during the pandemic, with low-income families suffering widespread unemployment, educational disruption, and acute inflation. In this distressing context, administrative measures that dilute affirmative action quotas, curb educational scholarships, or dismantle labor protections place underprivileged youth at a grave disadvantage. He argued that the Union government constitutional responsibility is to protect the vulnerable, rather than enacting policies that restrict social mobility and entrench historic disadvantages.
Stalin demanded that central ministries prioritize social justice in all economic recovery packages and educational directives. He reaffirmed the DMK unwavering dedication to fighting against systemic discrimination, asserting that genuine national progress is impossible without equitable empowerment and constitutional justice for all marginalized citizens.
