The proposal to drop key concepts from Science and Humanities subjects will cause irreparable damage to the development of future generations and decrease our global competitiveness.
I urge Minister @DrRPNishank to give up this exercise and focus on ensuring access to education. https://t.co/bMiw0mKtH7

DMK president M.K. Stalin urged Union Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to immediately abandon controversial curriculum reductions that dropped core concepts from school syllabi in science and humanities subjects. Stalin warned that removing foundational academic topics under the guise of reducing student stress during the coronavirus pandemic will inflict irreparable damage on the intellectual development of young learners and seriously impair India global educational competitiveness.
Stalin noted that arbitrary excisions of critical scientific concepts, democratic theory, citizenship rights, and federal governance structures dilute academic rigor and compromise the holistic learning foundation required for competitive higher education. He stressed that instead of pruning vital subject matter, the central ministry must concentrate its resources and administrative efforts on expanding universal digital infrastructure, addressing connectivity disparities in rural communities, and ensuring that underprivileged students can access continuing education during prolonged school closures.
Stalin called upon central education authorities to respect academic integrity and consult leading educationists before implementing sweeping curricular alterations. He affirmed that safeguarding quality education and ensuring equitable learning access must remain the foremost national priority, warning against ideological pruning that harms future student generations.
