DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an inspiring commemorative letter to party cadres on the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, celebrating the occasion as Educational Development Day across Tamil Nadu. Stalin extolled Kamaraj as a towering statesman, visionary administrator, and ethical giant whose pioneering educational reforms and rural development projects laid the foundation for modern Tamil Nadu socio-economic progress.
Stalin recalled that Kamaraj earned the deep affection, mutual respect, and enduring admiration of Dravidian movement stalwarts, including Perarignar Anna and Muthamizharignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi. He highlighted Kamaraj historic policy initiatives, particularly the establishment of primary schools in every village, the introduction of free mid-day meals to combat childhood malnutrition, and extensive construction of major irrigation dams and industrial hubs. Stalin urged the younger generation to study Kamaraj exemplary life of personal integrity, administrative simplicity, and selfless dedication to public welfare.
Stalin emphasized that honoring Kamaraj requires defending universal access to public education against policies that seek to commercialize or centralize learning. He called upon party workers to celebrate Kamaraj egalitarian ideals and work tirelessly to protect Tamil Nadu educational achievements from regressive national policies.
