DMK president M.K. Stalin sharply questioned Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami over his government's deafening silence regarding the Union government's National Education Policy 2020. Stalin demanded to know why the AIADMK administration had failed to voice immediate opposition to a national blueprint that threatens Tamil Nadu's foundational commitments to social justice, secularism, and federal multilingualism.
Stalin stressed that Perarignar Anna's historic two-language formula of Tamil and English had empowered generations of Tamil youth to achieve global professional excellence while nurturing their rich cultural heritage. Introducing a compulsory third language serves as a backdoor conduit for Hindi and Sanskrit hegemony, undermining regional linguistic dignity. Stalin asked whether the ruling party was willing to sacrifice the educational principles championed by its own founding leaders, M.G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa, merely to preserve political power.
Declaring that Tamil Nadu will never accept educational regression, Stalin called on the ruling establishment to clarify its official stance immediately. He affirmed that the DMK will lead statewide democratic agitations against any central policy designed to weaken regional linguistic identity, subvert affirmative action, or curtail educational autonomy.
