In furtherance of my letter on OBC reservations, just spoke with Hon. PM Thiru @narendramodi regarding OBC quota in state contributed seats of AIQ.
I urged him to convene a committee meeting on priority & uphold state reservation laws. We must continue to defend the defenseless.
DMK president M.K. Stalin held a direct telephone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Union government to uphold state reservation statutes and implement fifty percent quota for Other Backward Classes in All India Quota medical and dental admissions. Following up on his official memorandum, Stalin requested the Prime Minister to convene the committee mandated by the Madras High Court without administrative delay.
Stalin emphasized that state governments surrender fifteen percent of undergraduate medical seats and fifty percent of postgraduate medical seats to the national pool with the explicit understanding that regional reservation policies must not be violated. Over several academic cycles, thousands of qualified OBC aspirants were denied legitimate medical college admissions due to central inaction. Stalin asserted that denying affirmative action protections in surrendered seats constitutes a severe infringement on constitutional social justice principles.
Urging Prime Minister Modi to intervene decisively and defend the rights of marginalized communities, Stalin stated that timely committee action is crucial before the upcoming counseling cycle begins. He affirmed that the DMK remains steadfast in protecting constitutional reservation rights, pledging relentless legal and parliamentary advocacy until OBC students receive their full educational entitlements.
