DMK president M.K. Stalin urged central and state authorities to abandon administrative arrogance and cancel final year examinations for arts, science, and engineering college students across Tamil Nadu. Stalin pointed out that bureaucratic delays and egotistical standoffs between regulatory bodies and governments had paralyzed the graduation process, preventing lakhs of young men and women from securing higher educational admissions or joining prospective employers.
Stalin maintained that demanding students undertake written exams during a virulent contagion ignored practical realities, severe logistical constraints, and deep psychological distress. With campus hostels converted into isolation facilities and public transit suspended, expecting candidates to travel safely to testing centres was entirely unreasonable. He insisted that universities award final degree certifications based on aggregate scores from earlier semesters and continuous internal evaluations.
Condemning both central regulators and the AIADMK administration for treating student careers with unpardonable callousness, Stalin stated that prompt certification is vital to protect employment prospects in a contracting economy. He affirmed that the DMK will stand resolutely with college students and youth organizations, resisting ill-conceived exam policies until comprehensive academic relief is officially granted.
