DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed deep shock and offered heartfelt condolences following the gruesome murder of police constable Subramanian, who was killed in a crude bomb attack by criminal suspects during an operation in Thoothukudi district. Stalin emphasized that when law enforcement officers tasked with maintaining public order face mortal danger on duty, it reflects a severe breakdown of security administration under the ruling AIADMK government.
Stalin observed that criminal elements have grown increasingly emboldened across Tamil Nadu, operating with blatant disregard for the law and endangering the lives of frontline personnel. He stated that the state administration's political interference and administrative laxity have eroded operational morale within the police department. Constables and field officers are frequently left under-resourced and exposed to deadly hazards without adequate tactical backup or protective gear.
Demanding decisive structural measures to safeguard police personnel, Stalin urged the state police leadership to overhaul field safety protocols and apprehend all culprits involved in the attack. He asserted that safeguarding police lives is essential for preserving public order, insisting that the government provide comprehensive financial support and compassionate care to constable Subramanian's bereaved family.
