DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, urging the central government to immediately postpone the nationwide Joint Entrance Examination and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Stalin emphasized that the safety, health, and psychological wellbeing of students must be the paramount and exclusive priority for the government during the severe and ongoing threat posed by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Stalin stressed that forcing millions of candidates, parents, and examination invigilators to converge at designated test centers while coronavirus cases were surging exponentially across multiple states created unacceptable public health risks. Widespread public transport curbs, inter-district travel restrictions, and quarantine protocols placed students from rural areas and economically disadvantaged households at an enormous logistical disadvantage. Conducting high-stakes competitive examinations under such hazardous and unequal conditions violates basic principles of fairness and compassion, causing tremendous mental distress among youth.

Urging the Union Ministry of Education to demonstrate administrative empathy and scientific prudence, Stalin called for an immediate rescheduling of the entrance tests until public health conditions normalize. He reiterated that protecting young lives must override rigid examination calendars.
