DMK president M.K. Stalin visited his legislative constituency of Kolathur in Chennai, directly interacting with local residents and distributing essential relief materials to families suffering severe economic distress due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Listening attentively to numerous heart-wrenching grievances voiced by working-class families, informal wage earners, and elderly citizens, Stalin observed that prolonged public health restrictions had devastated household livelihoods, leaving countless residents without basic income or adequate nutrition.
Drawing a sharp contrast, Stalin remarked that while healthcare professionals advised citizens to wash their hands frequently to prevent viral infection, the ruling AIADMK government had completely washed its hands of public responsibility, abandoning vulnerable citizens to fend for themselves during a catastrophic health emergency. He noted that the state administration's negligence, failure to supply sufficient cash assistance, and mismanagement of relief distribution left ordinary families in profound agony. Stalin warned that the public would decisively hold the rulers accountable for their callousness.
Reaffirming his lifelong bond with the people of Kolathur, Stalin emphasized that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will always stand alongside the vulnerable, mobilizing party cadres and voluntary relief initiatives to mitigate hardship across Tamil Nadu.
