DMK president M.K. Stalin demanded an immediate investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation into massive fraudulent disbursals discovered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi welfare scheme across Tamil Nadu. The central initiative, designed to provide six thousand rupees annually to support genuine agricultural cultivators, was systematically looted by bogus beneficiaries enrolled through official connivance. Stalin revealed that in Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami's home district alone, over ten thousand seven hundred fake accounts were fabricated to siphoned funds.
Stalin observed that this agricultural swindle coincided with multi-crore irregularities detected in rural housing schemes, indicating systemic administrative corruption permeating government welfare disbursals. He questioned whether the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership at the Centre was complicit in shielding the state administration, given their political alliance. Stalin argued that local departmental inquiries conducted by state authorities were inadequate to expose high-level collusion and recover public money.
Calling for a transparent and independent CBI inquiry, Stalin insisted that every corrupt official and intermediary involved in siphoning farm relief must be prosecuted rigorously. He reaffirmed that public welfare funds intended for struggling agrarian families must never be plundered.
