DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound shock and heartbreaking grief over the tragic suicide of nineteen-year-old medical aspirant Jyothi Sri Durga in Madurai, who took her own life due to acute anxiety surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Stalin emphasized that from the heartbreaking loss of Anitha in Ariyalur to Jyothi Sri Durga in Madurai, a continuous trail of young lives has been extinguished by this discriminatory examination mechanism that shatters the confidence of dedicated students.
Stalin made an earnest, compassionate appeal to all students across Tamil Nadu, stressing that suicide is never an acceptable solution to systemic institutional injustice. He pointed out that NEET is fundamentally not a genuine evaluation of medical aptitude, but an artificial exclusionary barrier erected to favor wealthy students enrolled in commercial coaching factories. Stalin asserted that both the obstinate Union government and the compliant AIADMK administration must bear direct moral responsibility for pushing vulnerable youngsters into despair.
Reiterating his firm demand for an immediate nationwide ban on NEET, Stalin urged students to face adversities with courage. He pledged that the DMK will dismantle this predatory entrance system and protect the lives of Tamil youths.
