Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly conduct comprehensive discussions on critical public concerns, including the devastating impact of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, the controversial draft Environmental Impact Assessment notification, and systemic pandemic mismanagement. Speaking inside the assembly premises, Stalin denounced the ruling AIADMK government's public posturing against NEET as deceitful political drama designed to mislead anxious students and parents across Tamil Nadu.

Stalin pointed out that neither Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami nor senior cabinet ministers had ever traveled to New Delhi to directly confront the Prime Minister or demand statutory exemption for Tamil students. Instead of utilizing constitutional authority to protect provincial rights, the state administration operated as a docile subservient proxy of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government. Stalin emphasized that legislative sessions must serve as vibrant forums to address popular distress rather than truncated stages for official self-congratulation.

Asserting that the AIADMK regime's subservient conduct betrayed the vital interests of Tamil youths, Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will persistently demand immediate legislative accountability. He pledged that an incoming DMK government will wage an uncompromising constitutional battle to scrap NEET permanently.
