DMK president M.K. Stalin asserted that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami's active endorsement of the Union government's three controversial agricultural bills constitutes the most catastrophic betrayal of the people committed during his tenure. Stalin stated that the Chief Minister had completely exposed his political dishonesty by claiming agricultural identity while simultaneously casting legislative votes to dismantle peasant protections. He maintained that the Chief Minister's sole remaining honorable course is to admit this grave misdeed and tender an unconditional public apology to the farming community.
Stalin argued that the AIADMK administration traded away the welfare of millions of rural households merely to shield corrupt ministers from central investigative agencies and retain ruling power. By sanctioning laws that abolish price guarantees and expose farmers to predatory corporate contracts, the state government collaborated in dismantling agricultural autonomy. Stalin observed that while chief ministers in other progressive states staunchly resisted central overreach, Tamil Nadu's leadership chose humiliating subservience.
Reaffirming the DMK's resolute opposition to the enactments, Stalin vowed that democratic forces will ensure the Chief Minister faces political accountability before the electorate. He promised that a future DMK administration will enact comprehensive measures to protect agrarian livelihoods.
