DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound sorrow and outrage over the tragic deaths of two critical patients admitted to the intensive care unit at Tiruppur Government Hospital due to an abrupt disruption in central oxygen supply. Stalin stated that citizens entrust their lives to state-run medical facilities during health crises, making preventable clinical tragedies resulting from administrative negligence completely unforgivable. He pointed out that this shocking failure exposed the deep systemic rot within the state health department.
Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar for focusing on self-congratulatory public relations campaigns while core hospital infrastructure remained perilously mismanaged. He observed that alongside thousands of viral casualties, innocent citizens were increasingly losing their lives due to governmental incompetence and defective medical supply management across state hospitals. Stalin emphasized that public healthcare facilities must maintain strict emergency protocols and backup power systems to prevent catastrophic clinical breakdowns.
Demanding an impartial high-level investigation into the Tiruppur hospital tragedy, Stalin insisted on exemplary disciplinary action against responsible supervisory officials and immediate compensation for the bereaved families. He reaffirmed the DMK's commitment to modernizing and safeguarding public healthcare.
