DMK president M.K. Stalin declared that statewide opposition demonstrations held on September 28 demonstrated Tamil Nadu's collective rejection of the Union government's three controversial agricultural enactments. Addressing protest gatherings, Stalin warned the ruling AIADMK leadership that public tolerance for its repeated administrative concessions to New Delhi had expired. He demanded that the Tamil Nadu government formally join pending petitions before the Supreme Court of India challenging the constitutional validity of the farm laws.
Stalin maintained that the legislations usurp state legislative jurisdiction over agriculture, violate constitutional federalism, and weaken local market safeguards for agrarian producers. He cautioned Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami that failing to legally challenge these enactments would seal his administration's historical legacy as betrayers of Tamil cultivators. Stalin stressed that democratic opposition will continue unabated across fields and urban centres until agricultural rights are restored.
Stalin reiterated that the DMK-led secular progressive alliance will employ legislative, legal, and grassroots mechanisms to defend farmer autonomy. He called upon all political forces to prioritize the state's economic sovereignty above transient partisan advantages. He stressed that unified civic action across Tamil Nadu will demonstrate that popular democratic will cannot be suppressed by executive stubbornness.
