DMK president M.K. Stalin accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government of deliberately shielding the ruling AIADMK administration from legal accountability in multiple high-profile corruption scandals. Citing cases including the Gutkha payoff diary, the Karur cash seizure, the unaccounted five hundred and seventy crore rupees container haul, RK Nagar election bribery, the Pollachi sexual assault racket, the Kodanad estate break-in, PM-Kisan fund misappropriation, and the Sekhar Reddy sand mining probe, Stalin questioned why central investigative agencies routinely stalled action against state ministers.

Stalin asserted that the Centre acted as a protective shield for state functionaries solely to extract political compliance and maintain leverage ahead of assembly elections. He observed that central authorities used enforcement dossiers not to punish corruption, but to compel the regional government into supporting contentious national policies against Tamil Nadu's interests. He noted that unchecked corruption in high administrative offices diverts vital state funds away from public healthcare, rural development, and social welfare infrastructure.

Stalin affirmed that administrative compromise damaged institutional credibility and delayed justice for the public. He promised that an incoming DMK administration would conduct fair, thorough, and transparent judicial inquiries into each documented scam without political interference.
