DMK president M.K. Stalin called upon village panchayats throughout Tamil Nadu to pass formal resolutions opposing the three central farm enactments during their upcoming Gandhi Jayanti Gram Sabha meetings on October 2. Stalin characterized the contentious agricultural legislations as a deliberate effort by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government and its regional ally, the ruling AIADMK, to subjugate independent cultivators to corporate agribusiness interests. He argued that local civic bodies represent grassroots democratic power capable of sending an unequivocal rejection to New Delhi.

Stalin stated that farming families face grave perils from deregulation measures that dismantle regulated agricultural market committees and threaten statutory Minimum Support Price mechanisms. He criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for endorsing laws that strip smallholders of statutory protections and expose them to predatory corporate contracts. Stalin maintained that rural communities must mobilize at every institutional level to resist policies that endanger agricultural sovereignty.

Reiterating the DMK's steadfast solidarity with agrarian communities, Stalin urged panchayat presidents, council members, and civic leaders to defend rural livelihoods by adopting unanimous anti-farm law resolutions across thousands of Tamil villages.
