DMK president M.K. Stalin declared that an incoming DMK government will establish exclusive, dedicated special fast-track courts across all districts of Tamil Nadu to expeditiously investigate and adjudicate crimes against women and young girls. Addressing public gatherings during statewide demonstrations organized by the DMK women's wing protesting the gruesome Hathras gang rape in Uttar Pradesh, Stalin described the horrific incident and subsequent midnight cremation by police as an unpardonable atrocity that shocked the conscience of the nation.
Stalin noted that the DMK women's rally served as a direct and stern warning to the ruling AIADMK government, which had turned Tamil Nadu into an increasingly unsafe state for women through administrative indifference and lax policing. He pointed out that delay in prosecuting sexual offenders emboldens criminals and inflicts prolonged psychological trauma upon surviving victims and grieving families. Stalin emphasized that rapid judicial trials and stringent punishments are essential to re-establish deterrence.
Stalin reaffirmed that safeguarding women's physical security, dignity, and constitutional equality remains an uncompromising priority for the Dravidian movement. He promised comprehensive legal reforms to ensure immediate justice for vulnerable citizens.
