DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound anguish and outrage over the acquittal of the accused in the horrific case involving the electrocution and murder of twelve-year-old schoolgirl Kalaivani in Dindigul district. Stalin pointed out that the trial court was forced to acquit the suspect primarily because state prosecution agencies and police investigators failed to present corroborative witness testimonies and forensic evidence. He stated that investigative incompetence had allowed a brutal perpetrator of sexual violence and homicide to walk free.
Stalin criticized the AIADMK administration for turning Tamil Nadu into an increasingly unsafe state for women and young children. He highlighted a distressing pattern of prosecutorial lethargy, compromised investigations, and uncoordinated police responses in cases of heinous sexual offenses against vulnerable girls across the state. Stalin urged the government to immediately register a criminal appeal before the Madras High Court, assigning capable senior prosecutors to ensure justice for Kalaivani's devastated family.
Stalin affirmed that public security and women's safety cannot be compromised through administrative apathy. He pledged that the DMK would support legal efforts to secure strict punishment for the culprits.
