DMK president M.K. Stalin welcomed the Madras High Court ruling that quashed administrative tenders issued for rural local body works without the statutory approval of elected village panchayats. Stalin described the judicial verdict as a devastating sledgehammer blow to the corrupt machinations of the AIADMK administration and Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani. He noted that the state government had illegally centralized e-tendering procedures to bypass elected local body representatives and siphon public funds into favored contractor syndicates.

Stalin emphasized that village panchayats are constitutional democratic institutions whose autonomous decision-making powers cannot be hijacked by ministerial fiat or complicit departmental officials. He demanded an immediate end to centralized e-procurement manipulations that subvert grassroots decentralization. Stalin issued a stern warning that public bureaucrats who facilitated irregular procurement procedures and unlawful financial diversions would not escape legal accountability once democratic oversight was restored.

Stalin declared that the High Court judgment vindicated the DMK's relentless campaign against systemic administrative corruption in municipal and rural local bodies. He pledged that an incoming DMK government would restore full statutory autonomy and fiscal powers to local panchayats across Tamil Nadu.
