Commemorating the birth anniversary of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on World Students' Day, DMK president M.K. Stalin paid tribute to the visionary aerospace scientist who demonstrated that a student from a humble background could achieve global greatness. Stalin noted that Kalam's life served as an enduring inspiration for millions of young people across Tamil Nadu and the nation, proving that scientific brilliance flourishes when educational opportunities are made inclusive and accessible to everyone.
Stalin linked Kalam's educational legacy to the ongoing struggle to protect Anna University, where the former president had taught and mentored students with immense passion. He stated that the DMK was actively fighting against policies that seek to bifurcate the institution, dilute sixty-nine percent reservation, or make higher technical education unaffordable for poor rural youth. Stalin stressed that protecting public universities from elitist restructuring was essential to nurture thousands of future innovators like Kalam.
Stalin called upon students to draw inspiration from Kalam's ideals of perseverance, scientific inquiry, and social commitment. He resolved to defend Tamil Nadu's democratic education system and protect public institutions for future generations.
