DMK president M.K. Stalin stated that the AIADMK government's verbal concession dropping the Institute of Eminence proposal for Anna University was achieved solely through sustained DMK resistance and statewide student protests. However, Stalin warned that mere verbal announcements were insufficient to protect the premier institution's autonomy and sixty-nine percent reservation mandate. He demanded that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami dispatch an official cabinet communication to the Union government formally withdrawing the state's IoE application.
Stalin criticized Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa for bypassing the state government and writing directly to central authorities expressing willingness to raise internal financial resources. He accused the Vice-Chancellor of functioning as an agent of central centralization, undermining state authority and threatening subsidized technical education for backward classes. Stalin urged the Chief Minister to recommend Surappa's immediate removal from office to safeguard the university's federal character.
Stalin declared that the DMK will not tolerate backdoor attempts to dilute Tamil Nadu's social justice achievements. He reaffirmed the party's determination to preserve Anna University as an accessible beacon of engineering education and protect sixty-nine percent reservation for future student generations.
