.@drharshvardhan, I strongly condemn the Centre's stance against providing reservation for Govt hospital doctors in PG super speciality courses, disregarding their selfless service.
@CMOTamilNadu should stand against centre's imposition & restore the state's power & autonomy.
DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the Union government's refusal to provide reservation for government hospital doctors in postgraduate super-speciality medical admissions. Addressing Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Stalin argued that denying admission quotas disregarded the selfless public service rendered by state healthcare professionals during routine operations and crisis emergencies. He asserted that in-service doctors form the backbone of rural and district public hospitals, where their advanced training directly saves lives.
Stalin urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to actively confront the Centre's policy rather than passively acquiescing to Delhi's directives. He emphasized that the state government possessed full constitutional authority over public health administration and seat allocations in state-run medical colleges. Stalin noted that systematic erosion of in-service quotas undermines Tamil Nadu's established healthcare architecture, which relies on returning specialists to serve vulnerable communities.
Stalin called upon all political parties to resist central encroachment on state rights. He insisted that the Tamil Nadu administration must restore statutory powers, defend dedicated medical professionals, and safeguard progressive affirmative action policies for upcoming academic sessions without compromising public healthcare access.
