DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned the callous negligence of the AIADMK administration as thousands of paddy sacks lay soaking in unseasonal rain and sprouting at government direct purchase centers across the Cauvery delta. Stalin pointed out the heartbreaking tragedy of hard-working cultivators who, after braving severe natural and financial challenges to produce record harvests, were left stranded for days outside procurement centers without covered storage sheds or tarpaulins. He stated that bureaucratic delays and widespread bribery had caused immense distress to delta farmers.

Stalin mocked Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for claiming the grand title of 'Cauvery Protector' while failing to protect harvested foodgrains that represent farmers' very lives and livelihoods. He criticized corrupt middlemen and departmental cartels that demanded commissions from vulnerable farmers to accept their paddy bags. Stalin demanded that the state government immediately open additional procurement centers, deploy mobile moisture-testing units, waive moisture restrictions, and provide immediate financial compensation for ruined crops.

Stalin affirmed that an incoming DMK government will modernize all direct purchase centers with permanent concrete silos and ensure hassle-free, timely payment transfers directly into farmers' bank accounts.
