DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered the keynote address live at the Theni district Mupperum Vizha celebrations, connecting virtually with party cadres, frontline workers, and coalition representatives across southern Tamil Nadu. The commemorative event paid homage to Dravidian pioneers Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, C.N. Annadurai, and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian movement's foundational values of self-respect, federalism, and social justice serve as powerful antidotes against authoritarian centralism and administrative decay witnessed under the incumbent AIADMK regime.
Focusing on regional governance, Stalin criticized ruling party leaders representing Theni for running the district as a private fiefdom marked by extensive land grabbing, illegal river sand mining, and unfulfilled agrarian promises. He highlighted that spice cultivators, grape farmers, and cardamom planters in the Cumbum valley had received negligible government assistance during pandemic disruptions. Stalin assured attendees that an incoming DMK administration would establish cold storage chains, safeguard Mullaperiyar water rights, and execute long-delayed drinking water projects across Theni.
The live stream inspired strong grassroots enthusiasm across party units. Stalin urged cadres to maintain disciplined booth-level campaigning to achieve a historic democratic transition in upcoming assembly elections.
