DMK president M.K. Stalin extended the DMK's unwavering solidarity and legal support to Ms. Pooranasundari, a visually impaired civil services achiever from Madurai who was denied allocation to the Indian Administrative Service despite securing an impressive 286th rank. Pointing out that Pooranasundari was entitled to an IAS posting under both Other Backward Classes and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities reservation quotas, Stalin condemned the Department of Personnel and Training for arbitrarily allocating her to the Indian Revenue Service. He stated that this decision directly contravened statutory reservation rules.

Stalin commended Pooranasundari for her remarkable grit, perseverance, and determination in overcoming severe visual impairment to triumph in one of the country's most competitive examinations. He noted that instead of honoring her extraordinary achievement and facilitating her administrative entry, central authorities subjected her to bureaucratic injustice. Stalin affirmed that the DMK legal team would assist Pooranasundari in her petition before the Central Administrative Tribunal to ensure she receives her rightful IAS cadre allocation.

Stalin emphasized that safeguarding the rights of differently-abled citizens and backward communities remains a core commitment of the Dravidian social justice movement.
