Cutting across political ideologies, we must unitedly strive for the rights of disadvantaged students. https://t.co/RosnRGRLOz

DMK president M.K. Stalin wrote a formal letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting his immediate executive intervention to enforce state-specific reservation for Other Backward Classes students in medical admissions for the current academic year. In his representation, Stalin underscored that affirmative action in medical education represents a foundational constitutional principle that must be executed without bureaucratic impediment. He emphasized that the Madras High Court had categorically directed the Union government to constitute a committee and implement OBC reservation in state-contributed All India Quota seats.
Stalin appealed to political leadership across party lines to transcend partisan differences and unite in defense of disadvantaged students' fundamental rights. He noted that the DMK's relentless legal campaign had secured judicial recognition for OBC rights, and allowing another academic cycle to lapse without implementing the verdict would cause irreparable harm to thousands of meritorious backward class candidates. Stalin stressed that equitable representation in professional courses is vital for inclusive national growth.
Stalin urged the Prime Minister to direct the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to immediately incorporate OBC quotas in seat seat matrices before counseling commences.
