1993-லேயே தடை விதிக்கப்பட்டும் இக்கொடுமையை அதிமுக அரசு தொடர்ந்து அனுமதிக்கிறது; கண்டனங்கள்.

DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound anguish and outrage over reports indicating that Tamil Nadu was poised once again to record the highest number of deaths due to manual scavenging in India. Stalin condemned the ruling AIADMK government for its callous failure to eliminate the inhumane practice, despite statutory bans having been enacted across the nation as early as 1993. He stressed that compelling marginalized sanitation workers to enter hazardous septic tanks and underground sewers represents a grave violation of human dignity and fundamental constitutional rights.
Stalin criticized state municipal departments and urban local bodies for persistently violating Supreme Court directives and safety guidelines regarding mechanized sewer maintenance. He highlighted that despite recurring tragedies claiming the lives of underprivileged laborers, the state administration had failed to prosecute negligent contractors or procure modern robotic cleaning equipment. Stalin asserted that a civilized society cannot tolerate workers sacrificing their lives to toxic gas asphyxiation due to administrative apathy.
Stalin pledged that an incoming DMK government will enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against manual scavenging, invest in comprehensive robotic mechanization, and provide dignified rehabilitative livelihoods for sanitation worker families.
