DMK president M.K. Stalin presided over the Kancheepuram district Mupperum Vizha celebrations, honoring veteran party workers with ceremonial gold purses and delivering a comprehensive address on the ideological duties of the Dravidian movement. The commemorative conference celebrated the anniversaries of Dravidian icons Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, C.N. Annadurai, and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Stalin paid glowing tributes to grassroots stalwarts whose lifelong dedication, personal sacrifices, and ideological resilience built the party into a formidable democratic institution across northern Tamil Nadu.
Addressing the gathering, Stalin emphasized that Kancheepuram, the historic birthplace of Annadurai, carries profound ideological significance for every Dravidian activist. He highlighted that the legacy of self-respect, rationalism, and egalitarian governance initiated by the party founders must guide cadres as they prepare for the 2021 legislative assembly elections. Stalin criticized the ruling AIADMK government for compromising the foundational principles of Tamil autonomy, allowing regional culture, linguistic rights, and administrative sovereignty to be subordinated to central dictates.
Stalin urged the assembled party workers to take Annadurai's message of discipline and public service to every household, consolidating democratic support to ensure a decisive DMK victory.
