DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered the keynote address at the Thamilagam Meetpom election campaign rally in Erode district, engaging thousands of party cadres, alliance partners, and local voters. Speaking in the prominent textile and turmeric trade center, Stalin detailed the DMK's strategy to rejuvenate regional manufacturing and protect rural livelihoods ahead of the 2021 legislative assembly elections. He criticized the ruling AIADMK government for neglecting western Tamil Nadu's industrial clusters, leaving powerloom operators, handloom weavers, and turmeric farmers without basic financial or policy support.

Stalin emphasized that unscientific taxation policies, severe environmental degradation of local watercourses, and high power tariffs had paralyzed Erode's manufacturing base over recent years. He pointed out that corruption in public tenders and poor civic infrastructure had hindered economic growth across urban municipalities. Stalin pledged that a DMK administration would establish modern effluent treatment facilities, introduce fair support prices for turmeric growers, and provide subsidized power to handloom and powerloom units.
