DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned why the Tamil Nadu government continues to seek procedural time and delay banning predatory online gambling platforms, while numerous young lives are tragically lost to debt-driven suicides across the state. Pointing out that deceitful digital betting applications lure vulnerable youth into catastrophic financial ruin, leaving grieving families and helpless mothers in tears, Stalin demanded to know what hesitation prevents Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami from taking decisive legislative action.

Stalin highlighted that neighboring states such as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had already enacted comprehensive statutory bans prohibiting online rummy and gaming apps, demonstrating that states possess clear legal powers to eradicate digital gambling menaces. He criticized the AIADMK government for remaining indifferent while families suffer immense devastation, questioning whether covert commercial interests or administrative lethargy were impeding a prompt ban. Stalin stressed that public safety and moral protection of youth must override all administrative excuses.

Urging the state government to issue an immediate ordinance banning online gambling without further procrastination, Stalin affirmed that an incoming DMK administration would guarantee stringent regulatory enforcement to protect citizens from financial exploitation.
