DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered the keynote address at the Thamilagam Meetpom special election campaign rally in Vellore district, mobilizing thousands of party workers, industrial laborers, and citizens ahead of the 2021 Tamil Nadu legislative assembly elections. Speaking in the historic fort city, Stalin outlined the DMK's progressive governance roadmap to revive the regional economy, re-establish democratic integrity, and end a decade of corruption under the AIADMK administration.

Stalin highlighted the prolonged crisis gripping Vellore's leather, tannery, and beedi rolling sectors, noting that unscientific taxation policies, environmental neglect, and lack of state assistance have led to widespread job losses. He pledged that an incoming DMK government would establish modern common effluent treatment plants, expand industrial subsidies, resolve drinking water shortages through the Palar river basin rejuvenation, and improve urban civic infrastructure across Ranipet, Tirupattur, and Vellore. Stalin criticized ruling ministers for prioritizing illicit commissions over industrial revival.
