DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a special election campaign gathering in the Nilgiris district under the Thamilagam Meetpom initiative, presenting the DMK's progressive developmental roadmap to revitalize hill area livelihoods and end AIADMK administrative apathy in the 2021 assembly elections. Speaking to thousands of tea plantation laborers, Badaga community members, indigenous tribes, and party workers, Stalin highlighted the acute economic vulnerabilities facing the highland district.

Stalin detailed targeted policy commitments for the Nilgiris, focusing on fixing remunerative minimum support prices for green tea leaves, reviving cooperative tea factories under INCOSERVE, expanding hill agricultural subsidies, and modernizing healthcare infrastructure in hilly terrains. He pointed out that small tea growers and plantation workers have suffered severe distress due to rising production costs and lack of state support under the current government. Stalin pledged that a DMK administration would champion environmental conservation, protect indigenous land rights, and generate sustainable eco-tourism employment.
