DMK president M.K. Stalin announced the party's unconditional support for the nationwide general strike convened by central trade unions on November 26, opposing the Union government's unilateral enactment of new labour law codes. Stalin pointed out that the Bharatiya Janata Party administration dismantled 44 historic labour welfare statutes and replaced them with 15 regressive provisions without allowing meaningful parliamentary debate or consulting working-class representatives.

Stalin condemned the central legislation for systematically stripping workers of fundamental rights to unionize, conduct collective bargaining, and secure occupational safety, solely to enrich corporate conglomerates and private capital interests. He emphasized that the hard-won welfare protections achieved through decades of trade union struggles cannot be arbitrarily erased by authoritarian executive fiat. Stalin called upon all DMK trade union wings, party functionaries, and working-class supporters to participate actively in the nationwide strike to express solidarity with organized and unorganized laborers.

Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK has historically stood as an unwavering ally of the labor movement. He pledged that an incoming DMK administration would safeguard workers' dignity, fair wages, and robust social security protections for every segment of the hardworking labor force.
