DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered an inspiring keynote address at the Thamilagam Meetpom special election campaign rally in Madurai district, addressing thousands of party workers, youth, and citizens ahead of the 2021 legislative assembly elections. Invoking the cultural heritage of the ancient temple city, Stalin presented the DMK's progressive vision to restore democratic accountability, industrial dynamism, and social justice across southern Tamil Nadu after ten years of AIADMK misrule.

During his speech, Stalin highlighted the persistent neglect of southern districts, including sluggish progress on the AIIMS medical institution, stalling industrial corridor investments, and mounting unemployment among educated youth. He pledged that an incoming DMK administration would establish robust industrial parks, expand drinking water and sanitation coverage, revitalize heritage tourism, and guarantee fair prices for local farmers. Stalin sharply criticized ruling ministers for looting the state exchequer while leaving vital southern infrastructure completely unattended.
