DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration for excessive delays in issuing the government order granting internal reservation for government doctors in super-specialty medical admissions. Pointing out that government doctors and underprivileged aspirants in Tamil Nadu have been forced to wage relentless legal and political struggles to secure their rightful entitlements, Stalin criticized the ruling regime for sluggishness and lack of commitment toward safeguarding social justice in higher education.
Stalin insisted that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami must immediately enforce the established 69 percent reservation policy across all super-specialty medical seats, ensuring that native medical professionals serving in rural public health centers are not sidelined. He emphasized that in-service doctors form the backbone of Tamil Nadu's reputed public healthcare delivery system, and denying them statutory career progression discourages talent from serving in government taluk and district headquarters hospitals. Stalin warned against any administrative compromise that dilutes state reservation principles.
Reiterating the DMK's historic role in protecting affirmative action, Stalin affirmed that the party will continue to fight on all platforms to guarantee equitable medical education opportunities for native practitioners.
